Below are some tools and materials that kids would need adults for some help:

Scissors

Scissors can be dangerous when not handled properly. It can cut, bruise and even inflict fatal harm. In card making, it is advisable to not let very young children handle a pair of scissors. But if they really would love to help out with the scissors, make sure that you have the small, plastic ones or ones that do not have pointed, sharp blades. These are available in the school supplies section in bookstores.

Glue

Glue may seem to be harmless, but if left with unknowing kids, they can just leave the container open and let the whole bottle dry. What a waste of money. Also, if not carefully handled, kids can easily pour glue over your tables, sofa and their own clothes. Without you knowing it, the whole house can be in a lot of mess just because the kids with a bottle of glue were not supervised by an adult.

Glue gun

Aside from the glue mess described above, glue gun is much dangerous because of the heat involved in using the tool. It is recommended to totally not let the kids hold glue guns. It can cause burns on themselves and worse, start a fire in the house. Definitely, you wouldn't want card making ending up with the house burning.

Paper

Paper is another item that seems to be harmless. Many take it for granted to the extent of forgetting that paper edges can be sharp and has the ability to slice through skin, especially delicate and sensitive skin of children. So be sure to check on the paper cuts and remind kids not to slide their fingers on the edges, lest they find a cut bleeding.

Embellishments

Embellishments are often small, cutesy, colorful items that are very attractive to kids. Make sure it is clear to them that these cute, very nice-looking things are not candies and should not be eaten. Choking or ingesting any of these can be fatal.
